In 2006, a well established vending company, Red Carpet Food Services, sold its assets to a local Regina family. Red Carpet was previously owned by an eastern company, Van Houtte, best known as a coffee roasting company. With their head office in Quebec, their primary focus was to expand the office coffee portion of the business. As a result, most of their capital was used to grow the coffee sector which led them to sell the vending portion.
The owners of Queen City Vending have a substantial amount of experience in the vending industry. This same family also purchased the assets of Red Carpets Saskatoon branch in 2008, making them one of the largest vending supplier in Saskatchewan. Since then, Queen City and Royal were able to gain new, larger accounts and grow into a very successful business. They now have branches in Regina, Yorkton, Saskatoon, and Prince Albert and service over 1200 machines in various locations. These locations include CNH, Maple Leaf, EVRAZ, The University of Saskatchewan, SIAST Wascana, The City of Regina, The City of Saskatoon and many others. This allows for greater product selection as Queen City Vending and Royal Vending purchases directly from the suppliers, having access to products that are not available in local stores.
